WELCOME TO THE SIKESTON AREA HUMANE SOCIETY!
There is a place in our community where the hungry are fed, the homeless are sheltered, and the abandoned are given care. It is your local Sikeston Area Humane Society animal shelter, 
where we provide comfort and care for our community's unwanted animals.
We are also an animal welfare organization that advocates responsible pet ownership through community educational outreach and programs that help enrich the bond between people and companion animals. Although we are not a no-kill animal shelter, we do strive to eliminate unnecessary euthanasia.
The SAHS was founded in 1986 and has since enjoyed continuous growth. Many improvements have been made, including construction of a new shelter building in 1996 (shown above).
